Meeting Action Items

Turn meeting transcripts into clear action items

  3. Pick the output language
  4. Click "Extract action items" to get a structured summary

Action Items Summary

No action items extracted yet

Paste a meeting transcript on the left and click "Extract action items" to get a structured summary.

Usage Examples

  • Convert a 60-minute Gong sales call into a one-page recap with next steps per account
  • Distil a weekly engineering sync from Granola into clear tickets and owners
  • Pull action items out of an Otter or Fireflies recording before they get lost in the doc
  • Generate a client-ready follow-up email body straight from a discovery call transcript
  • Standardise meeting notes across a remote team without anyone having to type up minutes

Best Practices

  • Paste the full transcript, not just snippets — owners and timing get lost otherwise
  • Include the meeting date if it's not in the transcript so deadlines like 'next Thursday' resolve correctly
  • The clearer the speaker labels (Person A: …), the better the action items
  • Combine with the AI Policy Generator if you want a standing rule for what gets recorded

Frequently asked questions

What does the meeting action items extractor produce?+
You get a structured Markdown summary with a TL;DR, the key decisions made, a list of action items (each with an owner, deadline, and priority), open questions that need follow-up, and a short prep section for the next meeting. It's designed to drop straight into a Notion page, ClickUp ticket, or follow-up email.
Does it work with Gong, Granola, Otter, or Fireflies transcripts?+
Yes. The tool is built around the formats those products export — speaker-labelled transcripts with timestamps. You can paste straight from Gong, Granola, Otter, Fireflies, Tactiq, Zoom transcripts, or even a raw dump from a Google Meet recording, and it will normalise the output.
How long can the transcript be?+
It comfortably handles a typical 30–60 minute call. For very long meetings (90+ minutes) the quality is best if you also paste a short meeting context line (date, attendees, project) so the model can anchor the action items. If you hit a limit, split the transcript into halves and run it twice.
Do you store the transcripts I paste in?+
Transcripts are sent to our AI provider to generate the summary and are not kept as searchable records on our servers. We don't share them outside the model provider. Even so, scrub sensitive client names or numbers from the transcript before pasting if your meetings touch regulated data.
Does it work in Bulgarian?+
Yes. You can paste a transcript in English or Bulgarian, and pick whether the output should match the transcript language, be in English, or be in Bulgarian. The action items, decisions, and section headings are all translated, not just the text.
