The short answer

What is Gemini Enterprise?

Gemini Enterprise is Google Cloud's AI platform for companies: an app where employees search, research and build no-code agents across company data, plus Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (formerly Vertex AI) for building, running and governing agents in code. It replaced Google Agentspace in October 2025.

Google announced Gemini Enterprise on 9 October 2025 as the successor to Google Agentspace and, at Google Cloud Next '26 on 22 April 2026, turned the name into a portfolio. The Gemini Enterprise app gives employees Deep Research, Gemini Notebook Enterprise and Workflow Builder — formerly Agent Designer — for chat agents and scheduled multi-step workflows with human approval steps. Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform is where developers build code-first agents with the Agent Development Kit and run them on Agent Runtime.

You do not need Google Workspace to use it. The app connects to SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams and Entra ID as well as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, SAP and custom MCP servers — which matters for the many Bulgarian companies that run mixed Google and Microsoft stacks. encorp.ai designs, builds and runs these agents for companies in Bulgaria and the EU, with EU data residency and EU AI Act-aligned governance.

Why Gemini pilots stay pilots

Everyone has a Gemini chat window. Few have an agent that owns a process.

Employees already use Gemini to draft and summarise, but tenders, month-end checklists, IT tickets and customer questions still move by hand between Gmail or Outlook, Drive or SharePoint, the CRM and the ERP. Turning Gemini Enterprise into working agents means choosing the right edition, connecting data sources with the right permissions, deciding what belongs in Workflow Builder and what needs code on Agent Platform, and showing security that data stays in the EU. Internal teams rarely have time for that work.

FAQ

Gemini Enterprise agents — common questions

Is Gemini Enterprise the same as Google Agentspace?
Yes — Gemini Enterprise is the successor to Google Agentspace. Google announced it on 9 October 2025 and upgraded Agentspace customers to it. At Google Cloud Next '26 in April 2026 the name became a portfolio: the Gemini Enterprise app for employees, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (formerly Vertex AI) for developers, and a partner agent ecosystem. The no-code builder once called Agent Designer is now Workflow Builder.
How much does Gemini Enterprise cost?
Gemini Enterprise Business costs $21 per seat per month, and Standard and Plus start at $30 per seat per month (USD list prices as of September 2026). A pay-as-you-go option has no seat fee for 20 or more seats; you pay for tokens, compute and storage instead. Agent Platform is billed separately by usage. Google or your reseller bills the licences; we estimate your total in the free review.
Do we need Google Workspace to use Gemini Enterprise?
No. The Gemini Enterprise app connects to Microsoft 365 — the SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams and Entra ID connectors have been generally available since 28 July 2026 — as well as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, HubSpot and Slack. That makes it a practical choice for companies that keep email and documents in Microsoft 365 but want Deep Research or Workflow Builder. Canvas also exports to Microsoft 365 formats.
Gemini Enterprise vs Microsoft Copilot — which should we choose?
Choose by where your data and processes live, not by brand. Microsoft 365 Copilot ($30 per user per month, annual) and Copilot Studio suit companies whose work runs inside Microsoft 365. Gemini Enterprise ($21 Business, from $30 Standard/Plus per seat) suits Google Workspace companies and mixed stacks that need agents across both. Prices are list prices as of September 2026. The two can work together through the A2A protocol, and we build on both.
Does Gemini Enterprise keep our data in the EU?
Yes, for core features on the Standard and Plus editions in the EU multi-region: data at rest and ML processing stay in the EU for search, the assistant, connectors, Canvas, Workflow Builder, custom agents and Agent Registry. Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grounding with Google Search, video generation and Nano Banana Pro are global-only, and CMEK and Access Transparency are not available in the global region. We configure around these limits before go-live.
What is Workflow Builder in Gemini Enterprise?
Workflow Builder is the no-code tool in the Gemini Enterprise app for chat agents and multi-step workflows; it was previously called Agent Designer and became generally available on 3 September 2026. Workflows run on a schedule, on demand or when someone @-mentions the agent, can include human approval steps, and connect to Gmail, Drive, Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, SharePoint, OneDrive and Outlook. It can also import ADK and A2A agents.
When do we need Agent Platform instead of the Gemini Enterprise app?
Use Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, the new name for Vertex AI, when an agent serves customers, needs custom code or deep integration, or must be tested and secured like software. Developers build with the Agent Development Kit, run agents on Agent Runtime with Memory Bank, and add Agent Identity, Model Armor and Agent Evaluation. It is billed by usage, offers Gemini and Claude models, and agents can be published into the app.
Is Gemini Enterprise secure enough for regulated companies?
It provides the controls regulated companies typically require: VPC Service Controls, customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK), Access Transparency, audit logs, document-level permissions and Model Armor. Google lists ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, SOC 1/2/3, PCI DSS, BSI C5:2020 and HIPAA among its certifications and states that prompts and outputs are not used to train models. We add an EU AI Act-aligned agent register and approval rules.
How long until our first Gemini Enterprise agent is live?
Typically 2–4 weeks from kickoff for a well-defined process: an audit week, a build week, a supervised pilot, then rollout. Workflow Builder agents on standard connectors are usually the fastest to ship. Customer-facing agents on Agent Platform, custom MCP servers or strict security reviews take longer, and we flag that during the free review so the plan is realistic from the start.
Can you work with our Google Cloud reseller or IT provider?
Yes. Your Gemini Enterprise and Google Cloud licences stay with Google or your existing reseller, and encorp.ai works alongside your IT team or provider. Our advice on editions, Workflow Builder or Agent Platform follows the process you want to automate.
